Pacific Pulse+ Season 7

Posted on February 05, 2026

AWARD WINNING PACIFIC ISLAND SERIES BEGINS NEW SEASON UNDER NEW NAME

(Honolulu)—Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) today announced the beginning of its Pacific Pulse+ series.  The series kicks off its seventh year on February 5th and has nearly 50 more weekly episodes. Pacific Pulse+ is a collection of bold, innovative and beautifully crafted films reflecting Pacific Islander experiences. In honor of PIC’s 35th anniversary, we’ll be presenting a mixture of features and shorts, narratives and documentaries, including some oldies, but goodies.

What’s new in the name change:

  • The addition of “+” provides a unique way to externally communicate the series and/or episodes.
    • E.G., Pacific Pulse+ Mythology, Pacific Pulse+ Women in the Pacific, Pacific Pulse+ Hawaiian History Month
  • The name itself connects the series to our broadcast series Pacific Pulse, previously named Pacific Heartbeat, available on PBS platforms.
  • The “+” can also be used to communicate to our general audience that Pacific Pulse+ will offer more than it did under its previous name.

“While the name has changed, our commitment to deliver high quality programming to the millions of Pacific Pulse viewers has not,” said Cheryl Hirasa, Executive Director of PIC. “It is the feedback we get from our viewers that lets us know we’re doing something right.”

"To be a part of Pacific Pulse+ is such an incredible feeling! We wanted to tell this inspiring story so that audiences, particularly Fijian and Pacific Island communities, could see the power of their voice, culture and talent shining on the world stage. To show that Nothing is Impossible. Pacific Pulse+ is the perfect platform to do just that,” said Nothing is Impossible film director Caleb Young.
